Goat Milk, Oatmeal & Turmeric Tallow Soap

Warm, honey-toned and quietly comforting — a traditional tallow bar made with fresh goat milk, colloidal oats and turmeric grown organically in our own Darwin garden.

The turmeric is prepared by hand for this recipe. Turmeric naturally contains curcuminoids, including curcumin, which create its distinctive golden colour. In the soap pot it produces the warm honey-to-earth tones that give this bar its character, along with a soft, quietly earthy note in the finished lather. The exact colour shifts from pour to pour, depending on the root, the season and the length of the cure.

Fresh goat milk contributes natural fats, proteins and sugars, and is folded into every batch. Colloidal oats are milled fine enough to disappear into the cream. Together, the milk and finely milled oats give the lather a rich, cushioned character.

Grass-fed tallow gives the bar its firm structure and holds the milk and oats together in a stable base. Olive oil sits alongside for its mild, creamy character. Coconut adds cleansing bubbles to the lather.

Unscented — the character is the soft natural earthiness of the turmeric itself. Warm gold to honeyed brown. A rich, cushioned everyday bar.
