Warm, softly aromatic and quietly blushed — one of the few ALATI bars scented at all, and only ever with essential oils. Colour drawn from a slow rhubarb infusion; aroma from cinnamon and clove.
A portion of the olive oil in this recipe is slowly infused with Himalayan rhubarb root for several weeks before the batch is poured. Rhubarb is used here as a natural botanical colourant — infused into oil, it produces the soft blush tone the bar is known for. Every batch varies slightly, which is part of what makes each one its own.
Cinnamon and clove essential oils give the bar its warm, restrained aroma, without synthetic fragrance.
Grass-fed tallow gives the bar its firm structure and the dense, creamy lather that carries the aroma well. Olive oil contributes to the mild, creamy character of the finished bar. Coconut oil adds cleansing bubbles; a small pour of castor holds the lather steady.
